Silver lining for me means wearing knitwear in march.
The silver lining is an expression that wants to emphasize the hopeful side of a situation that might seem gloomy on the surface. The common expression “every cloud has a silver lining” means that even the worst events or situations have some positive aspect.
Well here is mine.
When I booked a two week holiday in Thailand at the end of Feb, I expected to come back in fully bloomed warm England in March, but guess what, I came back to equally cold and gloomy weather as I left it. I’m still not giving up.
In the hopes that spring will arrive soon, and with the appearance of the first rays of the sun, I’m taking the minimalistic approach and wearing a ”silver lining” outfit to keep me warm and happy.
I figured this outfit is such a good way to fight that last of the winter cold. And if you think about it, it’s quite versatile.
Going to the work or for lunch with friends put white trainers on and you will create elegant but casual and a bit edgy attire. Wear it with metallic ankle boots and you are ready for a dinner in a nice restaurant. Take the jumper off and you can dance in the club till dawn looking sexy and sophisticated.
For this shoot, I kept it simple without any accesory or jackets. If you wanted some, a nice lilac or white coat will make the outfit look fresh.
After these pics were taken I couldn’t help myself but wrap up in a less fashionable black fur coat. The wind by the river is very, very cold and that was the only thing that would bring the heat back into my body.
The white or a grey bag would be my choices but pale yellow or baby blue bag would take this outfit more into spring.
I hope you like my minimalistic look and I hope I inspired you to create some of your own.
Lots of love,
