How to spring up your winter dress

How to spring up your wardrobe is an essential question that will cross every woman’s mind in this transitional weather.

Brown was AW 16/17 staple color and I am sure many of you have tons of it in your closet and don’t know what to do with it now when bright colors and florals are screaming from every magazine cover.

On my latest travel to my native Croatia, through my connections in high fashion, I got into a possession of this amazing light brown dress by Cadieux Paris. The brand is still relatively young but is on the way to becoming grand. At the moment they are taking over the American market and I see a lot of good thing in the future for them.

Right now, I am very proud to have this small collaboration before anyone else.  It was winter when I was in Croatia and as I went to Maldives for holiday in the meantime,  I didn’t have a chance to wear it until now.

Its such a beautiful dress I didn’t want to leave it in the closet until fall. Instead, I springed it up.

I’ve decided for very simple four things that, in my opinion, gave this dress a completely new vibe. All four of these items are blue.

Let’s start with my Tom Ford sunglasses that are exactly in the color scheme, brown-mahogany frames with blue lenses give such a playful touch to any outfit. Very much Boogie nights kinda feel.

A retro denim jacket by Ralph Lauren to keep you safe from that spring wind. If you don’t like this dark denim, a distressed light blue jacket would fit perfectly. I personally wanted to keep it classy for business meetings.

Light blue is one of my favorite spring-summer colors and it always gives a bit of freshness to an outfit. I paired baby blue court suede Office shoes but light blue or white sandals or shoes would match perfectly too. For lunch or shopping, this kind of dress would perfectly go with plain white trainers or, very popular at the moment, sliders. That must be my next outfit.

Round up your look with a nice same color clutch for dressier occasions or with an ultra trendy camera bag for more casual feel. I’ve added a link to a very affordable M&S camera bag that was featured in the latest issue of British Vogue. For this look, I’ve put a blue bag, but yellow one takes the cake.

I hope you like my brown/blue outfit and please let me know what are your hacks on transitional dressing.

Lots of love,
