Soft velvet dress is the best thing that can happen to us on a winter Friday. As I said its soft and feels good on the skin, but it can also be versatile. For the office, it can be simple and elegant, while for the party it can be sexy and glamorous.
Velvet has been a winter trend for seasons but this winter is having its renaissance. The trend has already permeated the wardrobes of the celebrity set, proving to be a red-carpet favorite since the early autumn. From Blake Lively in a sumptuous jewel tone, Tilda Swinton in emerald-green to Stella Maxwell in navy blue. Who can even forget how hot did Hailey Baldwin look on the streets of New York in that green velvet dress?
The trend is obviously here to stay and it will follow us deep into the spring, so how can we incorporate it into our own wardrobes. In my humble opinion, because of its softness, the rest of the outfit can be quite rough. For my casual Friday look, I opted for leather biker jacket, leather lace-up ankle booties, woolen hat to keep my head warm and fishnet tights for a bit of edginess. With this look, I am wearing a classic Chanel 2.55 bag to balance out booties and fishnet tights.
I firmly believe this dress would look extraordinary well with the over the knee boots as it will look cool with strappy sandals in the spring time.
Hopefully, you like my dark green velvet dress and please share your favorite velvet items this winter.
Lots of love,
