Kale crisp to beat your chips craving for a healthy Wednesday

Kale crisp is one of my favourite healthy snacks. I discovered it a while back and ever since has become my healthy option when I get hungry between the meals or when you decide to Netflix and chill. It’s easy to make, it’s low in calories, it’s ready in few minutes and the most important of all – it is delicious.

So here is how to make it. Wash Kale leaves, remove the stems and chop them into smaller pieces.

Spread them onto the baking tray while putting baking paper underneath to absorb oil residue. Sprinkle some olive oil on it and massage the leaves a bit with oil so they turn out crispier. Add some salt, pepper and, if you like spicy some chilli. Every time you make it you can add different flavours, today I added some cumin seeds.

Put the tray into the oven for not more than 5 minutes on 180 degrees celsius.

While the kale is in the oven, peel the carrots and slice them into sticks. In mortar make a bit paste by adding some olive oil, lemon, sea salt and basil. Mix it in a small dish with some creme fraiche. There is your dipping for carrots. You can sprinkle some basil onto the carrots, it tastes great.

After few minutes in the oven take the Kale out of the oven and serve it in a ceramic bowl by putting some tissue paper underneath to absorb extra oil. As I have my office at home, for me this is a snack between the meals, but I’ve made it for my fiance and me when we watch movies and we simply adore it. I hope you will too.
